The Great Migration – Month by Month
December – April | Ndutu & Southern Serengeti
The herds gather on the southern plains. Calving season (January–March) brings thousands of newborns and intense predator activity, making this one of the most dramatic times of the year.
April – June | Central Serengeti
As the rains end, the migration moves north through the central Serengeti. Large herds travel across the plains, with exciting wildlife viewing along the way.
July – October | Northern Serengeti
The herds reach the north and face the famous Mara River crossings. These moments are powerful, chaotic, and unforgettable.
October – November | Maasai Mara
The migration extends into the Maasai Mara, where the herds continue grazing before beginning their journey south once again.
